A new semester, a new set of challenges…
The semester started last Monday…mind you a week earlier then A&M, which sucks. Last week was overall pretty alright I suppose. A little nerve wracking since I wasn’t sure what people would say and how my teachers would react with my current situation. Fortunately everyone is pretty cool about it, and I’ve made it clear it’s not my goal to miss any of my classes. I will say this load of classes seems much more do-able then last semester. I am taking a little less for one, but also I am taking less hard classes. My first written homework is due tomorrow, and I am fairly confident about the class it’s for…so that’s good. Oh and I have my first voice lesson for the semester tomorrow! YAY!
Now, besides classes…here is one thing that annoyed me today…
ALL the parking lots were full this morning. I park in one of the less populated lots on campus…there is almost always a spot at any given time of day (at least all of last year this was the case). However, this morning I had to pay to park in the garage or I would have had to walk all the way from near the Walls Unit (yes, the prison) to the music building. I know walking is good for me…but that’s one long uphill walk. No thank you. So good job Sam for over selling the lots this year.
That was the only frustration for today. Other then that I have only a few concerns for the semester. A) passing my piano proficiency exam, B) figuring out how to alter my choir dress to accommodate my belly, and C) hoping that at the end of the semester my jury goes well. Really the big one is the piano thing though. I don’t want to have to retake it. That would suck hard core.
My only other observation today was I think the baby either loves or hates Bach. I don’t know which it is yet. All I know is that the baby has been pretty quiet most days in terms of movement except today during choir while we were singing through a Bach cantata. And it only kicked when we were singing…that was it. *shrugs* We’ll find out if it’s a music lover later on.
Well that’s my update tonight. I’m sleepy and think I may just try for an early night (yea right, I know…unlikely)
