Chris and I went out to Colorado for spring break. It’s been a while since we’ve had an actual vacation together so it was a nice break. We arrived there last Saturday (the 8th) and drove up to my Aunt’s house. We then went out for dinner at this little Italian restaurant in Morrison. It was pretty good, and very cozy. It’s nice to catch up with family…especially when I have not gotten to know them much during my childhood. We then went out to a bar and they all made me sing some karaoke …fortunately chris suffered with me too hehe! I have been really out of touch with that side of the family for most of my life..and I guess I am always looking for my family…and for the bonds that come with that. I love my parents and my sister, but I guess I have always wanted to know the rest of my family too. My aunt is a wonderful woman, and every time I meet her, the more I adore her. I also really like my uncle too. He’s very kind and funny. They are a really great couple who seem still very in love which I find sweet. My cousin seems like a good kid, but I still don’t know him very well. I may never know him well since he is graduating from high school this may, and once some one moves out I imagine it will be harder to get to know him. He also is rarely home whenever I have visited. I know he has other concerns like his girl friend and all his other friends …so I do understand. Any how, sunday we hung out with my aunt some more…went out to lunch at this place called casa bonita in denver. The food is OK, but the restaurant looks cool and they have divers in the restaurant. My mom used to take me there when I was really young and I always found it so cool. I have alot of good memories from living in colorado…even though we moved when I was four. My family usually has long memories…so even I remember some things from when I was one or two years old. Anyhow…I digress…

Monday we tried out snowboarding. We signed up for lessons so that we didn’t just go out there and break our neck (good plan huh?) I thought so. Our teacher was some guy named Rooster. He was alright…but both chris and I felt we didn’t learn as much as we could have. We spent HOURS learning just to turn right. We’d go down the slope and he would just tell us the same thing over and over again which wasn’t really working for us.  We tried the bunny slope (the easiest of them at that) and couldn’t make it very far without falling.  It was pretty painful falling all the time as well.  Any how,we stopped after lessons pretty much and then went back to my Aunt’s.  Had a nice evening with them again and went to bed.  The next day on the first run down I hurt my right knee…I managed to board down the bunny hill, but couldn’t do any more that day which was disappointed.  Chris spend a couple hours out there trying to get better, but after a while also gave up.  We went back once again, and I was pretty sure that was it for me that week.  I was right too.  Wed. I didn’t even think about going back out.  Pretty much the rest of our time was spent bumming around with my family and exploring small areas of the Denver area with Chris.  It was a really nice break from life in College Station.  We started our journey back home on Thursday morning…made it to Wichita and spent the night and then made our way back to Texas on Friday.  We have a fender bender about 40 miles from the Texas border which sucked, but my car came out of it alright.  There was a line of traffic (everything was stop and go at that) which was picking up some speed finally, and then they all slammed on the breaks!  I managed to stop just inches from the car in front of me thankfully, but then the vehicle right behind me plowed into the back of my car, forcing me into the car in front.  Everyone was ok, and the cars looks ok for the most part.  It was just a pain really.   That was pretty much it till we got back home for the most part.  Nothing too big, but like I said…a nice break.

Too bad I have to be back in the real world again.  Chris said that pretty much as soon as we got back I started getting a bit depressed again.  I suppose that’s true sadly.  This hasn’t been an easy semester.
