buying a car is easier then adopting a dog
Ok so on my lunch break today (mind you I still haven’t gotten to eat and won’t get to either), we went to the pound to look at puppies. We found a really sweet, calm collie mixed female puppy that Chris and i liked. Well we played with her and thought she was really nice (even though she peed on me and Chris). We go to the counter and say we want to adopt her. They say ok and ask us if we have other pets, being the honest people we are we said yes. We start all the paperwork (which is a lot since we have other pets heaven forbid)…when the woman starts asking us for county tags. I understand why this may be necessary, and to be honest…I’m not sure if we have them or not for our cats. The woman starts insisting that we HAVE to have them…mind you I never said we weren’t going to get them…I was just trying to think if we had them at home maybe. After about the 10nth time of her saying it I really had to bite my tongue from saying “Yes…I think we have established that fact…you can stop saying it unless it makes you feel better?” I really wanted to say it…I was so close to it. So then we start to buy them and finish all the other paperwork. Then she says…oh…well we have to verify everything (which she had thought was already done). So then she said well what’s your vets’ phone number. I don’t know it off the top of my head so I said we’d have to give it to them later (as in go home and look). She then proceeds to tell us well since all of this needs to be verified, your application will say pending. Until we verify everything AND you have purchased your county tags, the dog will still be up for adoption. So from now until 2pm today and whatever time on Monday…someone can get that puppy. Then of course if we do get approved, we have to wait for her to be spayed. I mean really…buying a car was easier. I did that two years ago and I was able to have the car the same day and I didn’t have to give my blood type practically. I understand a dog needing to be spayed…really I do…so I figured that we wouldn’t get her today…but I was thinking we’d at least have her held for us. I almost want to say forget it and look else where where the people aren’t so damn rude! That’s why I really don’t like going through the shelter. I don’t mind going through places that get their animals from the shelter…but I mind dealing with assholes.
Well, it’s been a really long time since I last updated my blog and let everyone know what’s been going on in my life. In essence, I’ve been busy as usual, but have made progress by leaps and bounds in most things I’m actually involved in, and also have a
