off the topic of marriage
I have come to the realization that I only have one really reliable friend. Chris has been having problems again with his friends…it seems that girls in college station don’t want to stay in contact with him…at all. In fact, maybe ignoring is more the word. Let me explain…
We had one friend here, who I had originally asked to be in our wedding, but told her she wasn’t going to be since she never returned my calls…not very friendly if you ask me. Anyways we still wanted to invite her and chris would call her every now and then to chat or hang out, which was just fine…but as we got close to the wedding she stopped returning his calls. He tried many times to invite her and she just acts like he doesn’t exist. I find this to be a trend here with the girls at that…as this has happened once before to him with a high school friend. I find it vaguely happens to me with the few friends I have, but since I don’t really have friends here in CS, I don’t find I have the same problems.
I have come to the conclusion however that the majority of people are just flakes. They don’t think about their friends really as having feels I think, friends are disposable and are just for their entertainment in short bursts. I think of myself as a somewhat good friend. If someone calls me and leaves a message (and yes, you must leave a message at least one of the times you called) I will make an effort to call back. Some times I forget, but in general, I do try to call at least. I have a couple friends who I think would be reliable if they had ways to call me, or drive to see me, but in those circumstances I understand (so if you are one of those, know that I am not mad at you at all).
Unfortunately, although the women here are the worst about being flakes…there are plenty of guys who match this too…and not just in CS.
Anyhow…on to a piece of advice…
IF YOU LIVE/GO TO SCHOOL IN COLLEGE STATION DON’T DATE GIRLS HERE, NOR SHOULD YOU TRY TO MAKE ANY SERIOUS FRIENDSHIPS WITH THEM.
They will only disappoint you. I think it must be contagious here or something since I think this disease spreads. I just hope I don’t catch it (or you the reader)!
I really am starting to think the only people you can trust is your family to be your friends (once in a while you are also blessed to have a friend so close they are like a sister or a brother, and in these cases…they are family, just not blood).
On a better note, I think some of the guys here are slightly better…they only flake half the time. You get a few that are honest to god nice and reliable too. (Like Chris!)
hey melissa, i like your new website update (it may not be new, but i haven’t looked at it in a long time….i’m a very busy person..hehe), i like this “off the topic of marriage”. i think you’ve told me about this “person, girl” before and ha yah i wouldn’t be happy either. i love how your personality comes out in the writing (wow, that was a quote for my english teacher Mrs. Sampson, when she reads great, funny, “personality” stuff). i especially like the part where you’re like there is some decent people that are nice (Like Chris), yall are jjust such a cute couple. i love looking at yall’s websites, reading about your trip to japan and so forth.. well i’ve gotta get back to my history documentary (ZZZz, boringg). hope to see you soooooon and have a spectacular day!
